Archetype Beard Co. was borne…
…from a playful design school branding project peddling "Whiskey and Grooming Products" under the singular label Archetype. Years before the beard trend exploded, Jorge, a longtime pogonotrophist, received his first beard oil as a gift from an old sweetheart. Intrigued by the concept but unimpressed by the offerings on the market, he decided to make beard oil infused with his own unique scent blends.
Jorge bought all the carrier and essential oils and got to work experimenting with different formulas like a mad alchemist. After developing over a dozen blends, he distributed small samples to bearded friends and strangers off the street, with a prompt to a feedback page he created using his web design skills. The feedback he gathered helped him narrow down his creations to four distinct scent profiles.
The name Archetype sprang from a long fascination with the eponymous Jungian concept from his younger days as a psychology major. So it was only proper to base these winning scent profile names on an amalgam of characteristics of four "basic" states of man. Diplomat, Rebel, Creative, and Seeker were born. Each day, men oscillate between these archetypes, making Archetype Beard Company a true reflection of the multifaceted nature of manhood.
